Result of a Crush is the second winery started by the Reynvaan Family, Mike, Gale, Matt, Amanda and Angela, in 2011, 4 years after Reynvaan Family Vineyard’s first vintage. From the beginning, the vision behind Result of a Crush was to produce wines that are serious in craftsmanship yet playful in character. The wines capture a true sense of place and showcase the distinct personality of each varietal.
The project reflects the same underlying philosophy that defines Reynvaan: site expression above all else, minimal intervention in the cellar, and a commitment to viticulture that restores and elevates the land. Fruit is sourced exclusively from Reynvaan’s two Estate vineyards. “In the Rocks” Vineyard is located in Milton-Freewater, on the Oregon side of the Walla Walla AVA. It was planted in 2005 by the Reynvaan family in the ancient alluvial fan of the Walla Walla River. The terroir consists primarily of river-tumbled basalt, similar to the famed Rhone region of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. “Foothills in the Sun” was planted in 2008 and is located at 1600ft in the foothills of the Blue Mountains on the Washington side of the Walla Walla AVA. The soils consist of ancient flood deposits, fractured basalt, and wind-blown loess.
Result of a Crush wines are farmed organically and vinified by Matt Reynvaan, with the same intention and sensitivity that have made Reynvaan one of the most respected names in the Walla Walla Valley. These wines deliver remarkable vineyard transparency, varietal purity and structure at a more accessible tier.
